Cartoon Network expands brand material to include nightwear, other apparel

Cartoon Network is planning to expand its branded material for this year via the production of nightwear, loungewear and other apparel.
International licensing on a number of children’s animation has become a trend the past few years with backpacks, stationary, underwear and t-shirts now branded with some of the most popular cartoons.
Last month, the network announced that it is bringing back many of its original characters for a classic line of t-shirts and other clothing. These original characters include Johnny Bravo, Samurai Jack and Dexter of “Dexter’s Laboratory.” This will be made possible via a two-year licensing agreement signed with apparel manufacturer Mighty Fine, Inc.
Mighty Fine has produced a number of Cartoon Network apparel in the past including the one for the “The Powerpuff Girls.” Aside from t-shirts, the agreement includes knit tops, nightwear and fleecewear. Additional characters such as Ed, Courage the Cowardly Dog and Cow & Chicken are included.

Lebanese ski resort hosts lingerie show
The Lebanese ski resort of Faraya was flocked with visitors from all over following a lingerie show that was staged in the popular resort last weekend.
A group of female models don on satin lingerie as they sashayed down the catwalk and impressed the audiences – both men and women.
The fashion show was entitled “Ski and Fashion Festival 2010.” Despite the cold weather, the models strutted down the catwalk as if they were just flaunting their bodies under the summer sun.
The large audience stayed until the end of the show as the models modeled clothing ranging from lingerie to swimsuits.
Hotel officials revealed that the successful turnout of the event means that they will be making this a yearly occasion with the anticipation of growing visitors every time they host this lingerie event.

Woman in nightgown shots husband on street – authorities

The Atlanta police revealed that a woman wearing only a women’s nightwear and shower cap shot her husband on Midtown street on early Tuesday morning. The husband died on the spot. The incident happened in front of several witnesses.
Witness Keenan Harris told the media that they heard five gunshots made by the suspect. The authorities were immediately summoned to the area where they found a woman walking along the street toward Georgia Tech. When apprehended, the discovered that she was carrying a handgun in her pocket.
Harris said they tried to help the victim but he was already dead.
Initial investigation findings showed that the shooting was triggered by the couple having an argument. There was no indication as to what caused the misunderstanding. The investigation is still ongoing and the witnesses are still being interrogated by the authorities.

Top fashion supplier plans to increase manufacturing capacity

Top Form International, a Hong Kong-based bra and nightwear supplier that delivers items to top fashion houses such as Maidenform and Calvin Klein, is reportedly planning to increase its manufacturing capacity in order to meet growing demands for products coming from Europe and United States.
Top Form tripled its market value during the past year and is planning to expand its operations by opening a fourth factory in China. These developments were revealed by company chairman Willie Fung Wai Yiu.
According to the company official, the company intends to increase its capacity by up to twenty percent within the next two years.
Fung said that there’s rising operating costs in China but their main concern as of the moment is to come up with quality goods that meet the standards of its clients. He said that their top priority is to gain the trust of the clients for long-term partnership deals.
