Bras / lingerie / Mastectomy Bras / Maternity Bras - 3 months ago - admin
A boutique for wigs as well as bras has recently opened in Sango. The boutique, which is named “Teresa’s Perfect Fit,” is accordingly a bra and wig boutique dedicated to come up with the “right fit every time.”
The bra boutique is located at 3375 Highway 41A South in Sango Village.
The owner of the bra boutique said that they aim to offer quality and durable underwear.
“We fit each client individually with a full line of bras from 32A-46M,” said owner Teresa Poston. “I plan to have available this summer, a large inventory of mastectomy products that post-breast surgery patients may need.
“I am currently going through all the certification and accrediation process and it will take (until summer) to complete,” she said. “The store is locally owned and operated by myself and my husband, Phil. I am a 20-year breast cancer survivor and have been a nurse for 40 years. This has been something I have wanted to do for 17 years and am so excited about providing this service to Clarksville,” she added.
The owner of the bra boutique said that appointments are preferred. However, these aren’t necessary. She also said that her boutique offers these other services: Lipo in a box, shape wear from Connie Elder International, wigs and wig caps, scarves, and maternity bras, tanks, loungewear and other products. You’ll find shaping cups, jewellery and more.
Call 358-0030 for details. Hours of operation are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. After-hours appointment times are available.

Restricted Rating On YouTube For Maternity Lingerie Ad
Bras / lingerie - 3 months ago - admin
A maternity lingerie ad has reportedly received a restricted rating on the popular video sharing website YouTube, to the chagrin of many women especially expectant mothers.
The maternity lingerie ad, which was commissioned by Hotmilk, received a restricted rating on YouTube. And as such, it cannot be viewed just by anyone else. The maternity lingerie ad can only be viewed if the YouTube viewers confirm that they were at least 17 years of age.
Hotmilk is a maternity lingerie company based in New Zealand. The company produces and manufactures maternity lingerie as well as nursing lingerie.
The said maternity lingerie company said that their ad reportedly got the flag because their campaign was too racy.
Hotmilk co-founder Lisa Ebbing came up with the idea for the company in 2005 when she was pregnant with her first child. She says this was before the “yummy mommy” phase, when the underwear options for expecting and nursing mothers were limited. She and her business partner Ange Crosbie decided to cater to mothers who still wanted to feel sexy.
Ebbing said that starting the company “basically took a lot of hard work and what we in New Zealand call Kiwi ingenuity, which is doing something with not much money and not much time,” Ebbing told us. “We pretty much had an idea, scraped up the money, and did it on a shoestring.”
“We had to go out and buy all the components of a bra and make the first samples ourselves on our home sewing machine. I then became the model, my husband the photographer and graphic designer. We then bought a book on html and built ourselves our own website, and Ange, my business partner travelled the country selling product while juggling another job.”

Glen Ellyn Reopens Mum’s Lingerie Boutique
designer lingerie / lingerie / Underwear - 3 months ago - admin
A Glen Ellyn resident recently decided to reopen a lingerie boutique that used to be owned and managed by her mother. And when she was asked what compelled her to do so, she merely said, “It’s because of love.”
Located at one of the retail spaces along Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Glen Ellyn, the lingerie shop is now owned by Kathryn Hudson. The shop was run by her late mother. Prior to the lingerie boutique, her mother owned a gift shop on that very same corner for about 15 years. The shop, Hudson said, helped the family so much. Her mother also dedicated so much time to the shop and that it was all a labour of love. The lingerie shop stood up until 1999 when it was sold because she wanted to retire. Later on, Hudson saw the boutique. It was closed.
“I wasn’t expecting how that was going to make me feel,” said Hudson. “So I decided to bring it back to life.”
Now, Hudson took the leap and reopened the lingerie shop, naming it “Knickers of Glen Ellyn.” She reopened it in the same downtown space.
Since then the economic outlook for small business owners became bleak and at times scary, but it’s the niche market her and her mother carved out that helped her stay afloat.
“An investment in a good bra is going to pay off in the end, so many didn’t want to go back, and go to a discount store and get a cheaper bra because they knew it wouldn’t be comfortable, and it wouldn’t look as good, and it would wear out faster.”

New Women’s Nightwear Product
nightdresses / nightwear / pyjamas / sleepwear - 3 months ago - admin
A company recently revealed that they now have a new women’s nightwear product available in the market.
Goodnighties Recovery Sleepwear is a new ionized nightwear fabric which also moisture-wicks and is anti-microbial. According to the company that produces this new woman’s nightwear product, “it’s America’s latest sleep option in a category of solutions from serious prescription sleep aids to orange light bulbs. Goodnighties is a breakthrough innovation and a ‘dream’ for the chronically exhausted. Those with night sweats from menopause or illness are also experiencing the benefits of this innovative fabric. Currently made for women with a men’s line coming soon.”
The new womens nightwear product is also supposed to be helpful especially for women who suffer from insomnia.
One hundred percent made in the USA, the company says that their new women’s nightwear product is made with a new patented ionization process called IonX® technology that embeds negative ions into the fabric fibers to stimulate blood flow to tired muscles helping to promote natural healing and ultimately better sleep.
According to Goodnighties, Dr. Albert B. Ouimet, the lead textile scientist on this breakthrough innovation, has worked for years in high-tech fabrics. His most recent position was with Warnaco’s high-profile divisions; Calvin Klein, Chaps, Speedo, Warner’s, Olga, Nautica Swim and Lejaby in France. Dr. Ouimet was also instrumental in developing Speedo’s Fastskins competitive swimsuit. He received his degrees from the United States Naval Academy, (Annapolis, Maryland), Naval Post Graduate School (Monterey, California) and the University of Rhode Island. Bottom line…. Dr. Ouimet is an expert in fabric technology.
“The fabric we developed that is now used for Goodnighties Sleepwear is a hybrid of great attributes; superior ionization, moisture-wicking with an added benefit of being anti-microbial” …. “For people in need of a restful night’s sleep there is nothing better” says Dr. Ouimet.

Valentines Day Gift Ideas
lingerie / nightwear / pyjamas - 3 months ago - admin
Happy Valentine’s Day. For anyone still looking for last minute gifts we have some lingerie tips from an underwear expert.
One of the main things that men who want to buy their ladies lingerie must remember is that they should never utter the words “she’s just about your size” to the lingerie store attendants.
“When someone enters the store, and motions to one of the agents, “She’s about your size,” that’s the biggest no-no of all!,” insists Jemma Hill, manager at Agent Provocateur in Glasgow.
“If you’re too shy to ask your partner about sizes, look at the labels in the underwear they wear most often. Try and find out bra size, dress size, and whether they prefer a padded or non-padded bra.
Meanwhile, Odyssey Boutique director Sarah Connnelly shares, “Have a snoop at the labels while you hang out the laundry, or have a little rifle through her underwear drawer. Does she like to wear lace or silk, shorts or thong, with or without suspenders?,” she adds.
The underwear experts say that safe choices would be silk pyjamas or chemises. A pair of stockings and suspenders would be great Valentine’s Day gifts as well.
Hill also said that these days, the trend seems to point to Mad Men-inspired lingerie. Mad Men is a popular drama show in the USA and other countries. Connelly, on the other hand, merely stressed that at the end of the day, the brand of the lingerie does not matter. What matters is that the lingerie is comfortable and of good quality.

What’s Your Nude?
Bras / lingerie - 3 months ago - admin
A campaign recently launched on Facebook is reportedly targeting “true nude” bras for women of colour. The Facebook campaign is dubbed the “What’s Your Nude” and it aims to mobilize women who are supposedly fed up with the lack of diversity in the development and production of bras or lingerie. The “What’s Your Nude” campaign, which is set to be launched on February 1, 2012, is the brainchild of Tara Raines, African-American psychologist and consumer who has spent years searching stores for her shade of nude.
Raines decided to launch the campaign when she learned recently that for more than 30 years, many of her family members and friends have been dying widely-sold buff and blush-coloured bras brown to create darker hued nude bras, an effort that the majority of lingerie companies have refused to undertake. ”Women of colour have tremendous spending power in the U.S. and it’s absurd to think that in 2012 we are essentially disenfranchised when they shop for lingerie,” said Raines.
“It’s my hope that this campaign will drive not only awareness, but swift action by bra makers.”
The campaign wishes to urge women who wear bras to contact companies that manufacture bras and demand greater representation across new and existing lingerie collections.
According to Raines, roughly 250 women have now signed up in support for this unique bra campaign. ”I don’t think it’s too much to ask that bra makers include darker hues when manufacturing their collections,” said Raines. “Women of colour deserve to look and feel sexy, and a big part of that is looking like ourselves.”
